Unit 6 Reflection

This seemed to be something I have been looking for and not being able to find the correct wording for it. The Universal loving-kindness is something that I feel everyone should attempt maybe this will bring the public back together and treat everyone with the respect that they all deserve. Everyone needs health, no one wants to see another person suffer, and everyone would like the happiness that comes along with the wholeness. I personally know my emotional and spiritual needs serious addressing. Some day’s the emotion control is better than others but today seems to be one of them that just pushing and pushing the control levels. I know I am not focusing enough and strongly believing I am just getting to deep into to many different activities. Seriously all I want is a vacation…lol…I know sounds odd but it sounds sooo refreshing and having the ability to step outside of my personal box and clear my mind of the daily activities would be sooo refreshing. Also going to the gym will really assist in this. I have been focusing more on others then myself and it’s time that I start focusing more on myself, this allows me to focus better on them. Odd how that works, but it works.

Unit 5 Reflection

I personally have issues with the loving kindness and prefer the subtle mind. I find it easier for myself to clear my mind then attempting to bring thought in the process. Although I am finding it amusing when something break through the stillness. It’s like when my children come and interrupt I can watch the frustration go into my mind, but then close it out and bring in a positive. Loving kindness, I believe the idea is a GREAT one, but I am still working on the understanding of forgiveness and bringing it into my life. I feel as I move forward with this I will be able to farther understanding what loving kindness is about in being able to use it properly.
I am a strong believer in the connection between the mind and body. I have seen what happens when you don’t take the time to see both side of the wellness, focused on the mental for so many years trying to create a “healthy” balance. Only to find out that in order to create that “balance” you need the combination of both. I have been slowly working on this balance, but life seems to be keeping me busy and I am having issues making sure I add the correct amount of each. I have the breathing and yoga down, but I really need to add more active activities in my daily routine. The yoga and breathing is almost a treat, I would say it is close to chocolate, but you know, nothing beats chocolate!

Unit 4 Reflection

I listened to Dachers CD and really didn’t find it difficult (as in hard to do), but I do feel like I tend to focus more on listening and less on doing. But what have done is used some of the information that was given and did it with the “noise” or “white noise.” I like to be in complete quiet. I would recommend Dacher to everyone and anyone. His book or is CD’s because of the fact it’s a great start. It’s very easy to read, isn’t talking in circles and is well explained. Mental workout is the idea or concept that you can change the way you think and are able to organize your train of thought. Through the different studies they have proven that you can benefit from the training or workout your mind. This could be being able to calm your mind to training your emotions and reaction. By being able to control your thinking you are ideally controlling the stress in your life. By limiting the amount of stress on the body, you are lowering your chances of stress illness, whether this is mental or physical health. Implementing mental workouts can be simple breathing techniques and progressing as you grow in your workouts. Mental workouts are the same as starting new exercise routines. It’s all about starting out small and working towards the end goal, overall wholeness.

Unit 3 Reflection

I just love reading Dacher! I mistakenly did Unit 3 blog assignment last week. So, I am just going to rerate myself this week.I would have to say on all of them I am probably about a 4. This has been one of those weeks that REALLY try a person and keeping it positive. Between illness with the kids and just always on the go, I lost the self centering time! I am going to work on getting back into that again this week (and off the caffeine). I know I need to start focusing more this week on school and getting back into my routine. This pushing the time limits is NOT my normal function.
Hope you all have a WONDERFUL week!
Thanks for your time and words!

Revised Unit 2 Reflection

Just read more into what I was suppose to reflect on. I reflected on what I have read and started placing in my life. I would say my current rate for physical, spiritual well-being, and psychological well-being is at a 5 or so. The reason I feel this way is best I am just starting on this path and I am slowly adding more and more into my life. I feel this is is a much better state that I am in then even 2 years ago, prior to my start of reflection. I am starting to look more into the spiritual aspect of the well being. I am not a spiritual by any means. I am trying to figure out a way to figure out how you can be spiritual without dealing with a form of God. That is my current goal in the spiritual well-being search. For the physical well-being, I need to make sure I add more time into my day, to give me that relaxation, while opening myself up. Psychological well-being is more of a goal to control my emotions better. Each day as I move forward on the path I am on, get's me closer to the mind-body-spiritual well-being. I am finding I am can create and find my own relaxation techniques. People talking or sounds I do not find pleasing do not assist in my relaxation.  Like this evening I took the children out back, ran over some soccer drills and football drills. After they were done with their drills I laid there on the green grass and just stared at the clouds passing by; while taking deep breathes. This was more relaxing then what the audio file was.
Thanks again!

Unit 2 Reflection:

I am finding that I truly enjoy Dacher's book, but I am having issues following (maybe the style of writing?) Consciousness & healing. Some of the major points that I am going to move forward with are:

1. It is ever-changing because we are ever-changing (Dacher, 2006, pp. 31).

2. Between the Western and Eastern cultures we have mastered the inner and outer life, now we just need to work on them coming today to become the master of both!

3. A healthy mind results in a healthy physiology. Per Pert, "The Mind is the body, the body is the mind."

I have enjoyed reading Dacher and I cannot wait to work farther with the breathing technique. All of this showing that over time we can change what needs to be changed for the better, but we can also change it for the worse. I think this will assist in myself making better choices in the future.

Thanks!

After getting involved with taking picture I have learned there are thing you miss in live, if you do not stop and look. Colors are brighter and object are clearer. Please enjoy!
